OPEN Corporate Events

The OPEN Corporate Events system is an application for recording and managing corporate events related to securities.

The system’s key functions and features are as follows:

• Handling of corporate events related to the recording of securities and account management
• Share-ownership verification and share allocation
• Data-reporting to the issuer
• Flexible and configurable modules to meet a wide range of user requirements
• Suitable for integration with other internal and external applications

The system ensures the exercising of ownership rights in respect of securities and performs the management of securities-related corporate events with respect to the recording of securities and management of securities accounts.

The OPEN Corporate Events system is designed to complement the Securities Account Management and Clearing applications suite.

The services / business functions of the Corporate Events system

• Recording of corporate events related to both physical and dematerialised securities
• Checking and maintenance of serial number data with regard to cut-off dates in respect of physical securities
• Receipt of blocking data, and the performance of blocking if required by the corporate event
• Receipt and validation of share-ownership verification data from custodians
• Allocation of the denominations and serial numbers of securities, based on results of the ownership verification procedure
• Data-reporting to custodians, the issuer and other entities
• Preparation of reports related to the processing of corporate events

The OPEN Corporate Events system is designed to complement the Securities Account Management and Clearing suite of applications.

The system can connect to the Dividend Payments system and the Share Registry Management system.

OPEN Corporate Events is a modular system with a client-server architecture and a user-friendly graphical interface, and can be flexibly developed to suit a wide range of user requirements.

The protection of the systems in terms of access and authorisation is ensured on multiple levels, partly by leveraging the opportunities offered by the applied technologies and partly by utilising the supplied application-level protection devices.

The OPEN Corporate Events system performs share-ownership verification (identification) in respect of dematerialised and physical securities managed in the KELER system.
