OPEN Share Registry Management System

The OPEN-SR system is an integrated system that incorporates the IT functions supporting the business operations related to share registry management, and performs the share registry management function in relation to both physical and dematerialised securities.

The system’s key functions and features are as follows:

• Management of physical and dematerialised shares
• Serial number maintenance of issued and non-negotiable shares
• Data reporting, and preparation of share registry statistics
• Flexible and configurable modules to meet a wide range of user requirements
• Suitable for integration with other internal and external applications

The OPEN Share Registry Management applications suite provides a share registry management service in relation to registered shares, and is capable of managing both physical and dematerialised securities.

As regards printed securities, the share registry management service includes the record-keeping of shares based on their serial numbers.

Dematerialised shares are recorded by number of shares, together with the related ownership data.

The functions of the Share Registry Management system:

• Continuous maintenance of the share registry, processing of entries and deletions
• Recording of non-negotiable (pledged or nullified) shares
• File generation of share registry extracts for shareholders
• File generation of ownership structure
• Management of share registry data, i.e. allowing for data retrieval and the tracking of changes in relation to the share registry

For the provision of its share registry management services, OPEN-SR performs the following functions:

• Proxy management
• Initial loading of share registry
• Share registry management
• Maintenance and recording of events data, provision of data for dividend purposes

The OPEN Share Registry Management suite connects to other internal and external systems via a standardised interface.

The Share Registry Management system connects to the Securities Account Management system, which is a module of the Securities Clearing and Settlement suite.

The OPEN Share Registry Management system is a modular system with a client-server architecture and a user-friendly graphical interface, and can be flexibly developed to suit a wide range of user requirements.

The protection of the system in terms of access and authorisation is ensured on multiple levels, partly by leveraging the opportunities offered by the applied technologies and partly by utilising the supplied application-level protection devices.
