OPEN G/L Posting System

The OPEN G/L Posting system supports the general ledger posting of securities turnover on managed securities accounts, providing the full range of related services.

The G/L Posting system performs the preparation for the posting of securities transactions, and their forwarding to the general ledger, the preparation of statements for controlling purposes, and the general ledger posting of fee accounts prepared based on the calculated fees.

The system’s key functions and features are as follows:

The OPEN G/L Posting system performs the posting of depositing crediting), withdrawal, conversion and expiry transactions involving physical and dematerialised securities, and, in the case of foreign securities, the general ledger posting of the exchange rate difference, as well as forwarding of the fee accounts interface.

The data processed in the G/L Posting system consists of the securities database updated by the appropriate bookings, and the database of accounts assigned in the OPEN Fee Calculation system.

• Automatic posting of securities transactions: inward transportation (crediting), outward transportation, conversion and expiry
• Revaluation of foreign securities and posting of the exchange-rate difference

The OPEN G/L Posting system connects to other internal and external systems via a standardised interface.

The system connects to the OPEN Depository and Vault Services application suite, as well as to the OPEN Fee Calculation module.

The G/L Posting system is a modular system with a client-server architecture and a user-friendly graphical interface, and can be flexibly developed to suit a wide range of user requirements.

The protection of the systems in terms of access and authorisation is ensured on multiple levels, partly by leveraging the opportunities offered by the applied technologies and partly by utilising the supplied application-level protection devices.
